Farmers for Climate Solutions

Farmers for Climate Solutions is a national farmer-led coalition that promotes agricultural practices to reduce emissions, sequester carbon, and increase resiliency to climate change. To assist farmers in incorporating these practices, they work to advance agricultural policies and programming that encourage practical climate change solutions.

FaRM

Farmers for Climates Solutions have developed FaRM, a free learning hub, with the incentive to reduce input costs, boost productivity, and improve soil health. Free, self-directed online courses are offered regarding Advanced Nitrogen Management, Advanced Grazing Systems, and Cover Cropping.

Advanced Grazing Systems – Mentorship Program

Following the Advanced Grazing Systems curriculum, the BC Forage Council is providing a training program to provide mentors with expertise in rotational grazing. This program is intended to help mentors support producers who would like to develop rotational grazing plans for their operation, and is designed to teach the basics of rotational grazing and how to develop a rotational grazing plan.

The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association has developed a mentorship training program in tandem to support knowledge transfer through peer-to-peer learning. In addition to the course content, the program continues to create a support network of other mentors and provides instructional support resources for their use or adaptation.
